Built for the way auction houses actually work.
ABSystems exists because every regional auctioneer we've met is losing lots to slow, disorganised valuation enquiries, and the tools they have weren't built for them.
The gap between the big houses and everyone else.
Walk into any regional auction house in the UK and you'll see the same thing: a shared inbox heaving with photos of furniture, jewellery, and paintings. Specialists triaging by hand. Reception staff playing telephone with valuations. Spreadsheets. Post-it notes.
Christie's and Sotheby's have entire teams of engineers building bespoke tools. Everyone else has Outlook.
We started ABSystems because the gap is enormous and the cost is real. A great Victorian brooch lost to another house because nobody replied for four days. A Chippendale chest that ended up at a charity shop because the photo never reached the furniture specialist. These happen every week.
Our platform takes the same patterns the big houses spent fortunes building. Automatic categorisation, specialist routing, response time tracking, performance analytics. We package them so a ten-person regional auctioneer can use them on day one.
Three principles guide what we build.
Specialists win lots, not software.
Our job is to get out of the way. The platform routes work to the right person, who does what only they can do.
Speed is the strategy.
In auctions, the first house to respond usually wins the consignment. Everything we build serves that.
The boring details matter.
Email deliverability. Mobile-friendly forms. Whether your team can actually find an enquiry on Monday morning. That's the work.
